This weekend I got some more tournament experience. Despite my feelings toward my performance, I finished 4th in my flight and “12nd” overall!
The back nine was my undoing as I shot an even front nine, including my first eagle of the year.
Using some course management planning from Practical Golf, I felt pretty in control of my round until I started missing to the right. I’m not exactly sure what is happening since I experienced the same misses this morning as we took the turn.
What I need to figure out is if I am losing focus, getting quick because I’m doing well, or if it’s just fatigue. I’m going to have to pay particular attention the next couple of rounds to sort things out.
When all else fails I have an appointment with my coach at the beginning of July. Although we need to focus on my putting, we may take a quick look at my swing to recalibrate.
Keep an eye out for a new article in the next couple of weeks. I want to show you how journaling can maximize your goal planning and help you stay dedicated to improving your game!
